About us
Our winery is a family-run business that cultivates some of the best vineyards in Rheinhessen through love of tradition but also preserves architectural cultural monuments and cultivates crops and livestock. Viticulture is a family affair for us. Our company has existed in the heart of Rheinhessen since 1696 and this cultural heritage has always been maintained with great respect.
We, Charlotte and Julius Meiser as the new generation take over more and more responsibilities for the winemaking. Contrary to common trends and conventions, our father never deviated from traditional aging in large wooden barrels. Today we can rely on a well-kept barrel cellar in which our wines are spontaneously fermented in peace and quiet. Our Riesling and Pinot wines are allowed to mature on the lees in large and small wooden barrels. The combination of new influences with classic methods creates timeless, complex and long-lasting wines.
The soil on which our vines grow is our most important asset. That's why we've made it our mission to protect this natural resource. We focus primarily on promoting soil life through our own compost and sowing flowering vegetation for insects and animals. Our vines thank us year after year, with healthy, ripe grapes.

The soils on which our vines grow are our most valuable asset. Therefore, we have made it our mission to protect this natural resource. We focus primarily on careful land management, promoting soil life through our own compost, and sowing flowering vegetation for insects and animals. Our vines thank us year after year with particularly balanced growth and healthy, ripe grapes.

Time is a luxury we value for our wines. To ensure they reach the glass precisely when they have reached their optimal drinking maturity, a few Rieslings and Pinot Noirs are allowed to mature for several more years in our ice cellar before being released. Our ancient ice cellar was once hewn into the rock by hand. The exposed rock walls ensure the cellar always maintains the optimal temperature and humidity.

Contrary to current trends and conventions, our father never deviated from the traditional aging process in large wooden barrels. This allows us to rely on a well-maintained barrel cellar where our wines undergo spontaneous fermentation in complete tranquility. Our Rieslings and Burgundies are allowed to mature on the lees in large and small wooden barrels until well into spring, before finally being bottled. The combination of new influences with classic methods creates timeless, complex, and long-lasting wines.

Weinheimer Hölle Spätburgunder trocken
Descripton: Dark red colour. Fruity nose with hints of almond. Full-bodied and velvet pinot noir. This pinot noir has a slightly sweet scent of red fruits, from cherry to blackberry and redcurrant. Smoky, soft tannins, dark berries.
Origin: It comes from the village Weinheim which is a picturesque winemaker’s village with tradition over 1200 years. You can see it in the name “Wein” means “Wine” and “heim” means “home”. It’s a single vineyard selection called “Hölle” which means hell, an old site name. The soil there is red and it’s quite a hot place. Although it is a south faced hill there is always a little wind blowing. It keeps the fruit fresh and sane, while also spending heat for a good ripening. You will find this freshness of fruit in the wine.
Römerberg Scheurebe Kabinett
In the glass, Scheurebe Kabinett shows pale yellow green reflections. The beguiling scent of black currant fills the air. Shortly thereafter, a great play of aromas of apricot and orange develops. In the mouth, Scheurebe Kabnett is supple, harmonious and powerful.
The own fruit sweetness is harmoniously integrated into the wine and was created by stopping the alcoholic fermentation. The opulent aroma is elegantly complemented by the fine acidity.
