Aromas of strawberries, wild berries, and plums; soft and fruity, with spicy and mineral notes, and hints of coffee and chocolate.

The grapes come from young, organically farmed vineyards in “Große” and “Erste” Lagen. Significantly reduced use of oak, a hint of reduction, crisp and invigorating acidity, and a structure that is surprisingly dense given the vines’ youth ensure that these wines perfectly complement the Heitlinger lineup. Positioned just below the GG wines, they represent a distinctive and highly individual style.

Delicate on the nose, with notes of freshly ground almonds and hazelnuts alongside ripe pear, apple, cantaloupe, and dried herbs. On the palate, it has a firm structure that gives way to a smooth finish, with subtle tannins; it is juicy and lively, offering good body and length, bone-dry, and versatile with food.

The Romans built a villa on the hill, raised their pigs in the oak forest on the northern slope, and established viticulture on the southern slope. The Benedictines of Wigoldesberg Abbey carried on the winemaking tradition. “Hilsbacher Eichelberg” is the oldest documented vineyard site in the Kraichgau. The vineyard was first mentioned as early as 769, while vineyards are explicitly documented for the first time in 1236.

Tucked away amid a mixed oak forest, the vineyard lies like an island of vines nestled against the steep southeastern slope of the hill. Sheltered and surrounded by forest, the slope warms up well during the day thanks to its southern exposure. The protection of the forest and its thermal effects create a unique microclimate. In the forest above, we have oak trees felled to make the wooden barrels in which our wines are aged.

In the glass, the 2024 Rüdesheimer Bischofsberg presents a clear, pale yellow color with green highlights. The nose is initially dominated by crisp minerality and citrus notes. On the second whiff, aromas of green fruits such as limes and guava emerge. On the palate, the first impression is again one of minerality, green fruits, and a body all its own. Pear, Rangpur lime, austere minerality, plenty of bite, and power emerge on the second impression. A very juicy and aromatic wine with a well-defined, typical Rüdesheim acidity.

The 2025 Hattenheim Schützenhaus Riesling Kabinett presents itself visually as a delicate pale yellow with green highlights. A light minerality, green and yellow fruits, a hint of tarragon, and notes of white flowers enchant the nose and underscore the wine’s elegant character. On the palate, fresh and very distinct aromas of tropical fruits, cantaloupe, and Rangpur lime are compelling. It has a delicate, velvety texture with excellent balance. The exciting interplay of fine acidity and subtle fruit sweetness rounds out the flavor profile of the 2025 Hattenheim Schützenhaus Riesling Kabinett and gives it a pleasant drinkability that makes every sip a delight.

Hilsbach is a small village defined by its steep hillsides and white calcareous marl soils. The Chardonnay is hand-picked and spontaneously fermented in large oak casks crafted from local oak. After a year of ageing in oak, the wine is transferred to stainless steel for a further year before being bottled unfiltered. Quiet yet powerful, Hilsbach Chardonnay combines delicate freshness with remarkable precision and a long, mineral finish.
