About us

Our wines are an expression of origin, teamwork, inspiration, and craftsmanship.

We view everything as a unified whole—from the microbiome shaped by vineyard soil management to the microflora driving spontaneous fermentation in old wooden barrels. Each vineyard develops its own distinct character. We cultivate numerous small plots in prime locations across Fellbach and the Remstal valley, many of those are situated at altitudes above 400 meters, each with its own unique soil profile and microclimate.

Our minimally interventionist approach in the cellar—which relies primarily on the element of time—aims to produce wines with a distinctive character, freshness, and longevity. This entails aligning our work with lunar cycles and weather patterns, as well as employing little to no filtration or added sulfur.

For a long time, our estate has been recognized in all major wine publications as one of Germanys absolute top producers. In 2006, we became the youngest estate to be admitted to the VDP (Association of German Prädikat Wine Estates). We have been certified organic since 2013, and for several years, the estate has been a member of the highly renowned international winegrowers' group "respekt-BIODYN." The 2024 vintage marked our first to be officially certified biodynamic.

Wine Estate

Certified biodynamic producer of top tier premium wine and member of association of German Prädikat Wine Estates.

The winery is internationally known for its Pinot Noir, Lemberger, Riesling, Sauvignon Blanc and Sparkling.

Simonroth Spätburgunder (Pinot noir)

SIMONROTH is a protected name for the premium wines of our estate, first introduced with the 1997 vintage. The grapes are harvested from VDP-classified Premier Cru and Grand Cru vineyards. The name derives from a hamlet called “Immosrod”, founded at the foot of the Kappelberg, which gave its name to the surrounding vineyards.

GRAPE VARIETY Pinot Noir

DESCRIPTION The wine displays a brilliant sapphire-red core with a cherry-red rim.

The nose is very refined and complex. Initially, aromas of autumn leaves, violets, roasted almonds, juniper, air-dried ham, red meat and iodine emerge, followed by distinct fruit notes of red and blackcurrant, sour cherry and black cherry.

Lively acidity and fine-grained tannins create a dense and powerful structure. Its minerality, with subtle notes of iron, provides remarkable freshness and length. The oak is perfectly integrated. Great ageing potential!

VINIFICATION Fermented on the skins with 70% whole clusters and spontaneous fermentation. Aged for 18 months in 300-litre barrels, 40% new and 60% used. Bottled unfiltered.
