Welcome to Weingut Rebholz, our family winery in Radolfzell-Liggeringen, on the picturesque Bodanrück peninsula along the western shores of Lake Constance in southern Germany. Our story begins in 2001, with the unexpected discovery of an old vineyard plan in Bohlingen — once the historic heart of winemaking on the German side of Lake Constance. This document revealed the traces of vineyards that had been abandoned in the 1960s, and it inspired us to revive a tradition that had almost disappeared.

In 2002, we planted our first Pinot Noir vines on the Bohlinger Galgenberg, a hill rich in volcanic soils shaped by glaciers over millennia. This marked the rebirth of winemaking on the site after decades of silence. What started as a single vineyard has since grown into 8.3 hectares across the Galgenberg and the Höri peninsula in Gaienhofen and Weiler. Here we cultivate noble varieties including Pinot Noir, Pinot Blanc, Pinot Gris, Chardonnay, and Müller-Thurgau, a grape variety long connected with Lake Constance.

The Galgenberg itself rises more than 500 meters above sea level, offering wide views across the lake and a climate that is cooler and slightly windier. These natural conditions, together with the mineral-rich volcanic soils, shape wines that are elegant, fresh, and delicately spicy — wines that carry the unmistakable signature of their terroir.

In our cellar, we combine tradition with precision. Each grape is hand-selected and treated with care, from gentle pressing to patient maturation in stainless steel or French oak barrels. Our whites are known for their clarity and freshness, while our Pinot Noirs reflect both finesse and depth, matured carefully to preserve character and authenticity.

Today, every bottle from our estate tells a story: the rediscovery of a forgotten vineyard, the revival of an ancient landscape, and our family’s dedication to carrying this heritage into the future.
