About us

"Without Christian Bamberger, the Nahe wine region would not be as colorful and diverse as it is” says the Falstaff wine guide, and the German sommelier world champion and Master of Wine Markus del Monego also praises him approvingly: “Fresh ideas are his program.“

The appearance of his wines is unconventional: While he also stands for volcanic rock-driven Rieslings, Christian‘s Merlot is white and his Pinot Noirs gained popularity within wine lovers all over Germany. Christian has been shaking up the wine scene on the Nahe since he took over in 2007. With a family tradition since 1658, the Gault Millau commented on his start back then: “Perhaps the most impressive new discovery on the Nahe.“ Gault Millau commented on his start back then: “Perhaps the most impressive new discovery on the Nahe.“

When Christian packed his bags to study viticulture in California at the beginning of the 90s, everything looked set for a career as a winemaker. But after a year in the Napa Valley he completed a degree in business administration. It was only a stroke of fate that brought Christian back to the roots. He took over his parents‘ winery and acquired volcanic rock vineyards high above the Nahe river, real showpieces with cool climate.

In 2015, 2018 and 2019, Christian was awarded a State Award for the Collection of the Year, his Pinot Noir “QX” won Meininger‘s Red Wine Award and he became the first from the Nahe region in 25 years to win the German Red Wine Award with the highest rating of 1532 participants.

For Gault Millau, Christian Bamberger is an up-and-comer of the year 2023 and the Falstaff wine guide 2024 means: “Anyone who can‘t find what he´s looking for in this enormously diverse range won´t find it anywhere else."
