About us
Since its foundation in 1951, Oberkircher Winzer eG has developed into one of the largest winegrowers' cooperatives in Baden. The company owes its latest surge in size to the merger with the Hex vom Dasenstein winery in Kappelrodeck in 2019. The aim of the merger is to secure the existence of the wine producers and to preserve the vineyards in the Acher and Rench valleys. This region in the south of Germany is located on the slopes of the Black Forest and stretches across the Rhine Valley to the French border.
Sophisticated quality management, specially selected sites and prudent ageing stand for great wine enjoyment. The Oberkircher Winzer eG and the Winzerkeller Hex vom Dasenstein represent traditional, modern and international wines and are known nationwide. We have been one of the best wineries in Germany for years. Many awards confirm this.

Collection Oberkirch Riesling Ice Wine
Characteristic
The special and mostly rare treasures of the Oberkirch Collection can be found here in the exclusive edition. These wines are noble sweet highlights or particularly developed rarities. They promise highlights to enjoy and are therefore the excellent companions for precious (pleasure) moments.
This Riesling ice wine was harvested in the first hours of the morning at temperatures below -7 °C and pressed frozen. The water in the berries freezes due to the frost, which leads to a high concentration of flavors and aromas as well as fructose content.
Our Riesling Eiswein is an ice queen because she comes out of the snow and icy cold into the glass with a bright yellow smile. Charming, warm-hearted and unapologetic, she warms hearts with her sweetness. She is small and delicate, but has special, concentrated powers. It enchants festive occasions, moments or the end of every delicious meal.
Wine description
In the glass, this Riesling ice wine presents itself with an intense, golden yellow color; The scent contains concentrated fruit aromas of ripe apples, peaches, apricots, quince and pineapple, complemented by subtle herbal notes; On the palate there is a striking impression of acidity in combination with a raisin-like sweetness; a wine of great complexity that fascinates with its multi-layered overall impression.
Hex vom Dasenstein Pinot Sekt brut
Characteristics
Our sparkling wines are produced with great care and sensitivity using classic bottle fermentation. This Pinot Sekt brut is a pure creation of the “Hex”! The entire production process, from the grape to the finished sparkling wine, takes place in our historic wine cellar.
Carefully selected Burgundy grapes with a fresh acidity structure are used for this purpose. Slow, cool fermentation of the base wine at 14–16 °C, followed by traditional bottle fermentation with yeast storage for at least 12 months. The completion and separation from the yeast takes place in small batches in order to offer a particularly fresh sparkling wine.
Fruity aroma of apple and green pear underpinned by fresh notes of lime; fresh, fruity, and creamy on the palate with a finely sparkling mousseaux; an invigorating sparkling wine with charm for special enjoyment to celebrate the day or as an accompaniment to festive occasions and moments.

Characteristics
The Collection Oberkirch is the extended family of our wines, made up primarily of classic grape varieties and in a variety of flavors. This wine line stands for "original" and "regional." The Collection Oberkirch also stands for diversity: the diversity of our winemakers, the grape varieties, and the individual plots where they grow, as well as the diverse possibilities for aging in the cellar. This ensures that there is a perfect wine for everyone and every occasion.
Wine Description
In the glass, it presents a light straw yellow with silver reflections; the bouquet offers intense aromas of fresh apple, yellow peach, and delicate citrus notes; on the palate, delicate yellow stone fruit and plenty of apple fruit, juicy with a lively acidity; a balanced and elegantly fresh overall impression.
Grape Variety
Riesling is the king of white wines. This Collection Oberkirch Riesling quality dry wine reflects this originality and regionality in a special way. Grown and matured at the foot of the Black Forest, it benefits from the fresh winds from the Black Forest heights and the warmth of the Rhine Valley. This gives it its freshness and distinctive fruitiness.
The Riesling grape variety is known for expressing regional character and terroir particularly clearly in wine. In the Ortenau, the southernmost Riesling region in Germany, it is the number one white wine grape variety. Very fruity Rieslings with a comparatively ripe, balanced acidity grow on the local granite soils in the mild yet rainy climate.
Hex vom Dasenstein Riesling Quality Wine dry, Great Growth
Characteristics
Grosses Gewächs (Great Growth) is a unique, top-quality wine produced in a limited number of bottles, which expresses its origins and terroir in a unique way.
As the origin and home of the Hex vom Dasenstein (Hex of Dasenstein), this distinctive vineyard site is home to a rock formation visible from afar: the Dasenstein. What appears on the surface as an impressive rock is also present beneath the earth. Weathered primary rock soil par excellence, which imparts incredible minerality and tension to our Riesling.
Wine Description
In the glass, it presents a light yellow color with brilliant reflections; on the nose, there are pronounced yellow fruit aromas of vineyard peach and apricot; on the palate, it is powerful, with beautiful fruit accompanied by plenty of power and punch from the mineral acidity; very expressive, all seamlessly and harmoniously, a great and elegant wine.
Vinegar Process
Consciously gentle and considered vinification, partly through spontaneous fermentation, allows the microflora of the small plot to work in the wine. The vinification of our Grand Crus is individually adapted each year to the terroir and the vintage.
Grape Variety
The Riesling grape variety is known for expressing regional character and terroir particularly clearly in its wines. In the Ortenau region, the southernmost Riesling region in Germany, it is the number one white wine grape variety. The local granite soils, in a mild yet rainy climate, produce very fruity Rieslings with a comparatively ripe, balanced acidity.
