Founded in 1256, The Count Of Hohenlohe Winery is considered to be the oldest family business in Germany. It is a member of the German VDP wine union association.

Since 2008 we have been practicing organic viticulture in our vineyards, also known as "organic viticulture". The subsoil consists of very heavy Keuper with a high clay content. On the ridges there is a shallow crusted limestone horizon, which is unique to the winery.VERRENBERGER VERRENBERG is situated on steep, sunny southern slopes with an optimal microclimate, where the grapes are exposed to sufficient sunlight during ripening under high sunlight intensities.

Due to the special topographical shape of the hill and the associated cross-ventilation features, the grapes are "cooled" in a natural way, which in turn leads to a lowering of the internal temperature of the berries; this is considered to be a very decisive advantage for the development of the grapes' own aroma precursors.
